Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is centered on the belief that the body is able to heal itself if everything is working as it should. This means that messages from the brain are getting to all the organs and extremities without interruption. Chiropractic care focuses on getting the spine back into alignment, so things can work as they were designed to. Dr. Carol Loechinger & Dr. Richard Loechinger of Loechinger Clinic in Dayton, OH offer a wide variety of chiropractic care and services.

Chiropractic care uses medical testing and coordinates with other medical professionals as needed. What is not used in our approach is medication. Medication treats the symptoms and chiropractic care treats the root cause of the symptoms.

Spinal adjustment

Both Dr. Carol Loechinger & Dr. Richard Loechinger use instrument-assisted spinal adjustments. This technique is gentle and can be used on all patients. The instrument applies a quick thrust to a small targeted area and allows increased accuracy and fewer sore muscles after an adjustment. Patients only feel a light tap at the point of impact. This treatment will help to restore alignment to the vertebrae and allow your body to function more efficiently.

Dry needling

Dry needling is not acupuncture, even though it uses thin sterile needles. It is based on neuroanatomy and the scientific study of the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems. It causes a reaction between the muscles and the brain that results in a reduction of inflammation and this, in turn, reduces the pain. This is not appropriate for every condition and person, but it has proven effective for many people. Dr. Richard Loechinger has advanced training in dry needling and is certified through the Integrative Dry Needling Institute.

Spinal disc decompression

Cox Decompression Therapy combines the use of the Cox Decompression Table with other chiropractic therapies that can help not only with the decompression of the disc but with the goal of keeping the condition from returning again. The decompression table applies stretching and relaxation to the spine which helps to create the suction that will pull the bulging or herniated disc back into its correct location and off of the nerve. Therapeutic exercise with the additional use of therapeutic laser therapy and electric muscle stimulation helps to improve the health of the back.

Many other therapies are available at our chiropractic and naturopathic office and if you need to have medical help with your condition, we will make the proper recommendations as well.
